Web Design and SEO Derby
Hi I'm Michael Kehoe welcome to my website. It began life as a project for university but has basically been unused and neglected since I finished uni. Until now.
As a web designer, I have recently become interested in SEO. I like the competitive aspect of it, and when I saw that someone in Manchester who is (or at least claims to be) a novice in SEO reach the top of the charts, I wanted to do the same.
They have managed to climb to the top of the Google rankings for the search term SEO Manchester in less than a year. I want to do a similar thing for the search term "SEO Derby" so for updates, click on the link to the bottom of the page to see my SEO Derby experiment.

SEO Derby Experiment
I will start by giving a brief introduction to what the SEO Derby experiment is all about.
I took a course on SEO at college and after talking to other SEO consultants, I realised that nobody really knows any surefire successful SEO because the search engines don't tell us.
There is plenty of advice available but I want to see what actually works. Like anything that we do not know a lot about, several myths develop. I'd really like to eliminate these myths so I can avoid wasting a lot of time in the future.
So I will use different SEO techniques every once in a while and then search for "SEO Derby" in Google.
As you would think, "SEO Derby" is quite competitive search term and the people I am up against are experts who know exactly what they're doing.
So I will be interested to see how well I can do in the fight for rankings in the term SEO Derby and also what techniques do the trick and which don't.
Obviously, I want to get as high as possible to prove my credibility as an SEO Consultant. It would be great to appear on page one and would show I can compete with the big players of SEO in Derby.
